Diary For Music Video (As An Editor):

28/10/2019
Me and my group gathered our camera equipment and began to film the beginning shots for our music video during the day. While filming these shots I was thinking about what effects I can put on these shots to add visuals to the video.

29/10/2019
Today we finished up the shots from the day before and then we began to film some of the shots we needed in an alleyway for part of our music video. As an editor I was thinking of the different ways I can transition the clips I filmed today and the ones I filmed previously.

30/10/2019
We went back to the alley to finish up some of the shots we didn't complete and had to reshoot because we weren't happy with some of the previous shots. After that, we filmed some of the shots that were set in a classroom for our video. As an editor I thought about how I can connect and transition the clips from the alleyway to the clips in the classroom and what effects would be the most fitting for these clips I filmed today.

31/10/2019
Me and the group continued filming and reshooting the classroom shots that we needed for the video. Once we finished those shots, we then filmed some of the shots where we were rapping to the song of our music video. When I filmed the clips of my group rapping to the song I was thinking of what parts of the song I should put these clips in and how I could fit them in with the other clips.

4/11/2019
Today we reshot some of the clips where we were rapping to the song of our video and we filmed some extra clips for that part of the video. When we finished that, one of our group members took the camera and lens home with him to film some shots of him and his teammates playing football in the evening. As an editor I thought about what visual effects I could add to the rapping clips because they wouldn't fit in with the rest of the clips in the video. I also was thinking of ways to transition into the football clips and ways of adjusting the lighting and colour so that they would look a lot better in the video.

5/11/2019
Me and the group filmed one of us laying on a grass field for the introduction shot and outro for the music video. While filming these shots I thought about what angles to film at so that the sun was providing enough light in the shot. I also though about how I was going to edit these clips by adjusting the contrast and colour saturation because I wanted these clips to be very bright and colourful and I was thinking about what parts of the video these clips would fit in the most at.

6/11/2019
We then filmed the final shots that were needed for the music video. After that we put all the clips onto our computers and packed up our equipment. When I put the clips on my computer I put them in premier and put them in a specific order to get a rough idea of what order I would put these clips in when I edit the final video and to also get an idea of which clips work best at specific parts of the song for the video.

7/11/2019
We reviewed the footage we had gathered and we went back out to film some extra shots for the video and we reshot some of the shots because they didn't come out the way we wanted them to. After that we put the new clips on our computers and reviewed the clips and packed away our equipment. After I put the extra shots and the reshot clips on my computer I put them in premier into the order of the other clips I had done the day before to get an even clearer idea of what order these clips would go in for the final edit of the video.

8/11/2019
I logged onto my computer and gathered all the clips I filmed with my group and loaded up Premier and started editing the music video. Firstly, I downloaded the audio for the song me and my group picked for out music video and I put the audio in Premier. I then began to cut up some of the clips as they were sometimes too long or had some things that weren't needed at the start and ends of the clips. I also deleted some clips that had no use for the music video.

11/11/2019
I continued editing the music video. I started with cutting up some of the remaining clips that I didn't cut before. I then matched the song audio with some of the clips of my group rapping to the song. I then started arranging some of the clips so that they would cut in time with the beat of the song. I continued this until I used all the clips and I had reached the end of the song.

12/11/2019
I opened up my music video in Premier and watched how the music video was so far and I rearranged some of the clips because I wasn't happy with the positioning of some of them and I thought they would be better at different points of the video. After that I began colour correcting the clips for the video and I added some colour effects for the clips of my group rapping to the song of the video.

13/11/2019
I reviewed my music video and then decided to add some wave effects on some of the clips I thought would really fit with the song and it would make the video more interesting. After this I watched the video through a few times while making some small tweaks to the colours and effects and the clips with the audio and once I was happy with the video I exported the video and uploaded to YouTube and saved my work.

14/11/2019
I reviewed my final music video and gave myself some feedback with what I did well and what could have been improved and what I could have done differently. I reviewed the clips and how I edited the video and commented about what I did and what else I could have done.
